The Pederson Group has been retained by GUNN Consultants to conduct a search for a Project Manager to join their team in Vancouver, BC!

We are looking for a self-motivated and solutions-driven Project Manager to join Gunn Consulting’s project management team. As the Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for clients and oversee day-to-day project activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily project management to ensure effective project completion.

  • Organize and lead meetings with the client, architect, and construction teams. 

  • Communicate with architects and developers to ensure the design conforms to building usage and requirements.

  • Facilitate meetings and coordination with the internal design team and project personnel. 

  • Oversee design, traffic calculations, and specifications prepared by the internal Design Team.

  • Complete bid review, contract review, contract preparation and bid negotiation.

  • Determine project schedule by studying the project plan and specifications while calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving issues.

  • Review architectural drawings for code compliance and equipment configurations.

  • Complete field reviews and site inspections of elevator and escalator equipment.

  • Complete reports, letters, faxes, transmittals, etc. 

  • Some travel to project locations will be required.

  • Business development and other duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry. 

  • EIT, CET, or P.Eng. designation is not required but would be an asset.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is considered an asset.

  • Proven experience with project coordination and management involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs including Office, Microsoft Project, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Knowledge of elevator and escalator installation, maintenance, and upgrade is considered an asset.

  • Experience with CAD/Drawing is considered an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail (i.e. recognizing written errors and reviewing documents for accuracy and consistency).

  • Exhibit a strong balance of engineering principles and business acumen.

  • Deadline driven and solution focused.

  • Ready to speak up to ensure procedures are followed.

  • Natural curiosity for processes and how things connect.

  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment.

  • Self-employment experience is considered an asset.
