The Pederson Group has been retained by Mikkelsen Coward to conduct a search for a Business Development Specialist to join their team in Winnipeg, MB!

The Business Development Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting and selling HVAC maintenance services to commercial and residential clients and will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, conducting assessments, and presenting customized maintenance solutions.

Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing HVAC clients.

  • Identify and establish connections with new clients through effective networking, outreach and cold calling.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific HVAC needs and challenges.

  • Propose customized maintenance solutions that address the unique requirements of each client.

Assessment and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ HVAC systems, identifying maintenance needs and potential improvements.

  • Analyze existing HVAC setups to recommend tailored maintenance plans that align with client requirements.

Sales Presentations, Negotiations and Reporting:

  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.

  • Clearly articulate the benefits of HVAC maintenance services, emphasizing energy efficiency, cost savings, and system longevity.

  • Engage in negotiations with clients to secure contracts and agreements.

  • Work collaboratively with clients to address concerns and tailor proposals to meet their budgetary constraints.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and deal status.

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market feedback.

Quoting and Proposal Generation:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed quotes for maintenance services.

  • Generate comprehensive proposals outlining the scope of work, pricing, and terms.

Market Research:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market research to enhance Mikkelsen Coward’s HVAC maintenance services.

Collaboration with Technical Teams:

  • Work closely with HVAC technicians and service teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and service delivery.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business-to-business (B2B) sales role or a similar position.

  • Proven experience in a B2B sales role, with preference given to candidates with a background in maintenance services.

  • In-depth knowledge and a desire to learn HVAC systems, maintenance practices, and industry trends are considered assets.

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

  • Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and communicate HVAC concepts effectively.

  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales goals.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.

  • Proficient in using standard office software, including Word, Excel, and related applications.

  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client meetings and assessments is required.
