Opportunity:

The Pederson Group has been retained by Quorex Construction to conduct a search for a Senior Estimator to be based at their Saskatoon office!

Since 1987, Quorex Construction has been providing general contracting, construction management, special projects and design build services to their clients in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Over the years, Quorex has worked with consultants, building owners and government agencies on projects that are now landmarks in the province of Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the President, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and project requirements, leading budget meetings with clients, and assisting with bid preparations.

Responsibilities:

• Complete quality take-offs and effective work schedules.
• Complete accurate, timely, “best value” pricing to enhance the success of the tender.
• Determine the level of risk associated with the project.
• Secure all required permits, bonding, insurance
• Develop and maintain effective and mutually beneficial relationships with subtrades, suppliers, clients, and architects.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate estimating staff.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in an estimating function with a general contractor.
• Architectural Technology Diploma, C.E.T., Bachelor of Engineering or other post-secondary education in a construction-related field would be an asset.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand building blueprints, specifications and contract documents with strong attention to detail.
• Comprehensive understanding and proficiency in design-build and other procurement and contract types.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision in cost estimations and to avoid errors that may lead to budget overruns.
