The Pederson Group has been retained by Wright Construction to conduct a search for a Site Superintendent!

Wright and its predecessor companies were involved in monumental structures in Saskatoon, such as the Delta Bessborough Hotel, UnitedChurch on Third Avenue, and several original U of S Buildings. Wright has been awarded Butler “Builder of the Year” and “Top Volume Builder” in Canada many times over the last decade.
Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Site Superintendent will supervise and coordinate site crews’ activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position requires working on-site, potentially across Western Canada.
Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.

Interact with sub-contractors, project managers, owners, and consultants on a day-to-day basis.

Oversee day-to-day field activities while enforcing policies and procedures.

Supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.

Manage quality assurance and quality control program.

Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance.

Be a mentor and leader for superintendents and foremen and actively participate in developing team culture while promoting Wright Construction’s culture and values.

Mentor and train new employees.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel on a 2/1 rotation.
Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in construction is required.

Minimum 3 years of construction supervision experience is required with the ability to supervise a crew of 10 or more.

Possession of a Journeyperson Carpenter ticket is preferred.

Knowledge of building processes and detailed knowledge of all aspects of concrete trades and practices is required.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.

Understanding and commitment to safety is required.

Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong leadership and team-building skills.
-
Experience working in extreme weather conditions is considered an asset.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
