The Pederson Group has been retained by Westridge Construction to conduct a search for a Construction Manager to lead their projects in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing commercial and civil construction projects of all different sizes from inception to completion, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
- Review and analyze contracts to mitigate risks and protect Westridge’s interests.
- Manage and oversee the planning and execution of multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to completion.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues, as well as optimize project delivery.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project.
- Develop proactive strategies to mitigate risks and implement effective risk management procedures to address unforeseen issues promptly.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial and civil construction sector.
- Track new opportunities in a manner that facilitates a simple assessment of future capacity needs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead project teams, including project coordinators and superintendents.
- Track the capacity of team members and ensure their capacity is utilized to the fullest extent possible.
- Foster a collaborative and productive environment, providing guidance, support and mentorship to team members.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on projects, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, expectations, and project requirements to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to clients, stakeholders and senior management.
Financial Management:
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring profitability.
- Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial reports and make informed decisions.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or technology (architectural or civil) is desired but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a commercial construction project management position or similar role.
- Proven track record in business development and estimating is required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven understanding of construction processes, codes and regulations.
- Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
