Opportunity: 

The Pederson Group has been retained by Avana to conduct a search for a Site Superintendent to lead their projects in Regina and across Saskatchewan!

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Construction, the Site Superintendent will be responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling construction activities while ensuring safety compliance on-site, as well as leading Avana’s development portfolio. This includes managing high-quality multi-unit, residential, and commercial projects while assuring that construction processes and activities adhere to established design, budget, and project scheduling guidelines. This role will work closely with the Project Manager to support Avana’s development growth in Regina and nationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control the quality delivery of all ongoing construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day field activities and overall management of every member of the Avana site team.

  • Supervise and manage all in-field activities of the contracted trades, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality delivery.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, who is responsible for the execution of the Project Schedule and the fulfillment of trade contracts.

  • Lead and execute in-field weekly site meetings.

  • Conduct employee orientations and safety meetings.

  • Ensure Avana is in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures of safety adherence.

  • Attend building inspections with the Project Manager as needed and correct any deficiencies.

  • Manage and facilitate equipment as necessary.

  • Supervise site cleanliness, oversight, and delegation.

  • Attend and represent Avana at various community events and functions.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Applicants with a post-secondary education or equivalent construction experience will be given preference.

  • Valid Gold Seal Certification with a Site Superintendent designation is considered an asset but not required. 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisor position or similar role.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence.

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with fantastic organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to exercise tact and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently as well as be a team player.

  • Extensive construction industry experience, including supervisory, management, or leadership roles, is required, with OH&S knowledge as a prerequisite.

  • Previous experience with BuilderTrend is considered an asset as well.

  • Ability to work legally in Canada (i.e., permanently resident or Canadian citizen).
