The Pederson Group has been retained by Modular Building Solutions to conduct a search for a Business Development Manager in Winnipeg, Manitoba!
Modular Building Solutions (MBS) is a reputable construction company that has been leading the way in modular construction across central Canada for over a decade. Our client provides turn-key modular solutions across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northwestern Ontario for a range of projects including single-family homes, multi-family residences, commercial buildings, large-scale residential projects, and First Nations developments.
The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in promoting and selling Modular Building Solutions’ services and will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, conducting assessments and presenting customized building solutions.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing MBS clients.
- Identify and establish connections with new clients through effective networking, outreach and cold calling.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and challenges.
- Propose customized building solutions that address the unique requirements of each client.
Sales Presentations, Negotiations and Reporting:
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Clearly articulate the benefits of MBS’ services, emphasizing energy efficiency, cost savings, production time and longevity.
- Engage in negotiations with clients to secure contracts and agreements.
- Work collaboratively with clients to address concerns and tailor proposals to meet their budgetary constraints.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions and deal status.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts and market feedback.
Quoting and Proposal Generation:
- Prepare accurate and detailed quotes.
- Generate comprehensive proposals outlining the scope of work, pricing and terms.
Market Research:
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings and market demands.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on market research to enhance MBS’ services.
Business Growth:
- Develop a robust growth strategy focused on segmenting and targeting key residential/commercial clients.
- Provide transparent feedback on how clients receive services, identify and resolve any hardships and help continuously improve processes.
- Become a subject matter expert on MBS’ services, processes and operations.
Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a business-to-business (B2B) sales role or a similar position.

Proven experience in a B2B sales role.

Experience working in commercial or industrial construction is considered an asset.

Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proven ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and communicate construction concepts effectively.

Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales goals.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.

Proficient in using standard office software, including Word, Excel and related applications.

A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client meetings and assessments is required.
