The Pederson Group has been retained by a highly reputable multi-family developer to conduct a search for a new Operations Manager to join their growing team in Winnipeg, MB!
Our client is an industry-leading property management and development company specializing in multi-family properties. They are known for providing quality homes with a blend of modern and heritage styles. Their impressive portfolio of multi-family properties in Winnipeg exceeds 2,000 units and continues to grow.
The Operations Manager will report directly to the President. This position will be responsible for managing multiple construction/development projects as well as leading a team of project and site staff.
Responsibilities:

Manage a large portfolio of construction projects, including wood-frame and concrete superstructures.

Organize and direct the project workflow with the project manager, project coordinators, superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and owners.

Create overall schedules with project teams.

Lead pre-construction meetings with general contractors, trades, and internal teams.

Prepare and manage project budgets.

Oversee contractors’ work quality and direct corrective actions where required.

Organize and oversee all inspections and testing.

Schedule critical deliveries and understand critical paths.

Identify, review, submit, and implement all RFI’s in conjunction with the project team.

Review, collect pricing, submit, and implement all contract changes.

Understand, manage, and mitigate construction project risk.
Experience and Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as engineering, construction management or another related program is required.

Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial and/or multi-family construction.

Previous experience in a project management or project planning position with a proven track record of successfully leading a team.

Knowledge of all phases of building construction.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read blueprints and specifications for building.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Timberline, BIM and AutoCAD.

Experience with estimating and project scheduling.
