Senior Project Manager

Opportunity:

The Pederson Group has been retained by Wright Construction Western Inc. to conduct a search for a Senior Project Manager to be located in either Saskatoon, Regina or Calgary.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing and delivering projects on time, within budget and in accordance with specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee construction projects from start to finish while monitoring compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Communicate and develop working relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, Consultants and Owners.
  • Create overall schedule with the Site Superintendent.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, site layout, subtrade, and owner meetings.
  • Manage subtrades and suppliers, and ensure subtrade safety paperwork is completed.
  • Manage all change orders, including negotiating, processing, and assessing costs.
  • Monitor subtrade quality of work and direct corrective actions where required.
  • Identify, review, submit, and implement all RFI’s in conjunction with the project team.
  • Understand and manage risk. Review hazards when attending job site.
  • Demonstrate leadership in Wright Construction policies and procedures, including the safety culture. Promote education and awareness of these policies and procedures to work team.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Architectural Technology Diploma, Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional construction is required.
  • Ideally a large-scale project portfolio – projects $40m+.
  • Knowledge of all phases of building construction.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications for building.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Timberline, BIM and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with estimating and project scheduling are preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
