Site Supervisor

Opportunity: 

The Pederson Group has been retained by Progressive Real Estate Group to conduct a search for a Site Supervisor!

The company specializes in the construction of 4–6 storey wood-frame multi-family buildings designed for long-term ownership and management. Reporting to the General Manager, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day to day construction activities on the job site and ensuring the project is built safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with the contract documents and specifications. This role coordinates trades, suppliers, consultants and internal team members to ensure efficient project execution and quality workmanship.  

Responsibilities:

Site Coordination and Leadership: 

  • Organize, direct, and control daily construction activities on the job site. 

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries to ensure work progresses efficiently. 

  • Maintain clear communication with the development team, consultants, inspectors, and ownership group. 

  • Conduct regular site meetings with trades and suppliers. 

  • Promote professional relationships with all stakeholders including employees, subcontractors and supply chain partners. 

Safety: 

  • Champion and maintain a strong safety culture on site. 

  • Ensure all workers and subcontractors follow site safety policies and regulatory requirements. 

  • Monitor site conditions and enforce proper safety practices. 

Scheduling: 

  • Create, monitor, and update the construction schedule. 

  • Coordinate trade sequencing and site access to maintain project momentum. 

  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective action to maintain milestone dates. 

  • Manage day to day execution of the construction plan. 

Quality and Execution: 

  • Oversee construction work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project standards. 

  • Monitor workmanship and production to maintain quality throughout the project. 

  • Identify deficiencies and ensure issues are corrected promptly. 

Cost Monitoring:

  • Work with the Development team to help ensure the project remains within budget. 

  • Review and manage subcontractor extras and cost adjustments. 

  • Assist with the preparation of change orders and documentation related to scope changes. 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple trades and construction disciplines on active job sites.

  • Experience working on commercial or multifamily construction projects.

  • Ability to work in Winnipeg, with occasional travel within Manitoba if required.
