Operations Manager

Graham Construction has retained the Pederson Group to conduct a search for an Operations Manager for their infrastructure projects!

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee all operations within the buildings division and will be responsible for successful delivery of innovative projects in healthcare, education, hospitality, recreational, entertainment, commercial, multi-family and industrial sectors!


  • Responsible for multiple infrastructure and building projects while overseeing preconstruction,budgets, scheduling, field cost control, safety leadership and reporting

  • Supervise proposals, preconstruction, estimating process, submissions, reports, and project budgets

  • Manage multiple project managers and assist with subcontractor disputes

  • Oversee the subcontracting process, distribution and final execution

  • Ensure that project schedules and closeout checklists are prepared and maintained

  • Direct and approve project resources, including team, tools, equipment, materials, internal and external services

  • Review contract documents with the team to ensure terms are clear on deliverables

  • Communicate with suppliers and key project personnel to ensure that materials, supplies, tools, equipment, etc., are delivered when necessary

  • Develop regular status reports for senior leadership and project committees highlighting project statuses and recommending actions to be taken

  • Develop and recommend short-term operating budgets

  • Assist the General Manager with long-term planning when required

  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients while seeking new business opportunities

  • Responsible for the profit/loss of the project portfolio

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Construction related Degree or Diploma

  • 15+ years of experience in a Senior Project Management position or Operations Manager

  • Experience working on a variety of Infrastructure projects including $10m singly, and working with a combined portfolio of $100m is considered an asset

  • Ability to assist with multiple projects at a time

  • Experience working on building projects is considered an asset

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Primavera, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam and BIM modelling is considered an asset
